State Sen. John Curran (R-Downers Grove) has been appointed to serve on a task force that will develop solutions to combat the ongoing opioid crisis.
“Opioid addiction continues to take lives in every corner of Illinois. This is a crisis that knows no cultural, economic, or ethnic borders,” said Curran. “This task force will enable us to put together solutions that will have a significant impact at battling addiction and getting these drugs off of our streets.”
Senator Curran faced the crisis head-on as a prosecutor and has continued to focus on the issue as a Senator. He has sponsored and passed bills targeting opioids, including a recent bill aimed at the deadly synthetic opioid Fentanyl.
Curran was officially named to the Senate Special Committee on Opioid Crisis Abatement on September 19th.
